Hi Folks,

Here is my silly problem. I'm bit experienced with WP but a noob with codeigniter. Current project I work needs codeigneter with wordpress.

I'm not sure how hard this is going to be. CI is the front-end and WP is in a sub folder.

There are many helpful articles I can see for this, so it is possible for sure. I should be able to do this myself hopefully.

My question is,

Looking on performance side, is this an advisable setup? I'm not sure if this is just going to be fine or not. Making it a bit more complex, the WP site is heavy with lots of plugins and data. And it uses plugin for URL management as well.

Please advice. In a bit hurry now.

Jo

No such thoughts like "why not possible"? Answer is Yes! its a very possible thing to do. There is no conflict between these two as far as I know. Both are built for speed and reliability. Only thing is that you may need to invest sometime on this tweaking the setup and closely watching the htaccess.
